Senior Portfolio Visual Metaphor

Students create a visual metaphor reflecting who they are as a person, student, child, with interests, traditions, roles, what is important to them, and whatever they/it, him/her might like to add as an introduction to their senior portfolio. Students are encouraged to show meaning through text and visuals for a variety of purposes. In this sample, I infer what I am like and proceed to prove it. A slide, one of many in the presentation, I give glimpses of who I am as their teacher. I am adamant that students feel like persons and individuals in my classroom, and allowing them to reflect and show who they are. Sharing who I am gives them value and develops a rapport most necessary for student engagement and for them to care enough and listen.
